This is one of my favorite things to freeze dry!

Our 2nd year of harvest, black rot came in and took 80% of the crop. Year 3, it took 90%. Year 4, it took 100%. This year, I saw black rot starting, and I figured we would lose them all again. Then I remembered that when our tomatoes had blossom end rot, a cup of Epsom Salt dissolved in a gallon of water stopped the rot cold. What could it hurt? I mixed and poured a gallon around each vine. The black rot on the grapes instantly stopped! No more new rot. I'm not sure if I should treat it again or if the one treatment is enough, but I'm absolutely thrilled. Now I wonder if this isn't more of a nutrient issue. The plant being weak and succumbing to disease it should be immune to?

Great write up. I just installed my 36k btu unit in my new shop which is 1100 sqft. Hoping it keeps it plenty cool.

You should be using schedule 80 elbows and pipe. When the pump shuts off the pressure at that fitting is more then what schedule 40 can handle. The big box stores don't carry them. Ask a plumber where he gets his supplies. I would replace all the schedule 40 and put that filter on the other side of the pump. Good luck

When you clip the ends off, the vine below will start to produce laterals. If left unchecked, the density and tangle of the vine will get worse. Why not set up some perpendicular support (such as the wire you are using) to train them away from the central tangle. You could put these in at a height above your head, to make easy access to your grapes. I do not cut tips unless I want a more dense growth. The natural oils are harmful if you breathe them in too much. I would not do that work without a face-mask and breathing filter. It is also close to midday in this video. It is better to spray early in the morning, before direct sunlight it on the plants. When you find leaves with rust-spots, it is advisable not to drop them on the ground. As the leaves dry out the fungus will create spores and the disease will spread. You should put the infected leaves in a plastic bag that is sealed. You can dispose of them by burning the refuse. Do not add them to a compost heap. You have said nothing about cleaning your clippers. When clipping infected leaves or branches, you need to continually clean your tools. A good idea is to have 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to dip the clipper blade into as you move from vine to vine. A 98% Isopropyl alcohol will also do the trick. Avoid spreading the disease from vine to vine with dirty tools. And, of course, avoid touching the infected leaves with your hand, as hands do not take kindly to peroxide or concentrated alcohol. If you do use your hands, do not touch any healthy plant until you have finished your work and can wash your hands.

is that a slight hizzing noise at the compressor? i just installed my 27k 4th gen and theres a slight hizzing noise at the condenser. I sprayed all fittings for leaks and everything is good. Manual says a low hizzing noise is normal due refrigerant traveling back and forth.

You gotta keep adding freash chips and burying the weeds. Keep it up!

My biddies are getting these wounds and sores. I thought it was the heat lamp maybe burning them when they get to close but i unplugged it and its still happening. Maybe their pecking on each other.

Never ever lay the water heater on it's side in the truck. Has to be right side up only as the anode can easily chip the glass lining of the tank with it bouncing around on the road.

you didnt really need to get them all the way from malta. the type they have in the med is ficus indica brought by the spanish from mexico to spain and then it spread all over and naturalized from morocco all the way to india. ficus indica is the standard Opuntia in cultivation so you can find it anywhere. as its the opuntia the meso Americans hybridized and domesticated. they combinined a bunch of different prickly pears to get the ficus indica.

The one drawback I see is the products are toxic (hence critters don't like it). Like lots of things from the old days.

i get 50amp generator...30amp is only good for lights and fridge but not climate control during big storm in the texas summer when outside is hot for days without power. yes central air is very important but its not gonna run full power during generator running.. i so i might force to set temp to 75 degrees vs 71 degrees for normal power from utilities. It should be enough to run least 20 amp ac plus 15amp fridge and 15 amp for lights and back room window unit ...it be great to find 60amp generators ...that be great to have
